Biography


Santiago Jiménez was born at the end of 1972 in the andalusian city of Seville.
Composer, pianist, singer, guitarist y bass player, he has a long musical career.

In 1988 he formed his first band, and from then on, he has pased through different stages, playing in groups that covered songs from the classics bands, above all Beatles' songs.

So he was the original member founder of the band Escarabajos (1993-1995), that from those early days up to now, they continue playing live all over Spain and abroad.

In 1997, with “Revolution” and sponsored by Robert Freeman, (the Beatles' official photographer and author of five Beatles' records covers), he will continue his musical path.

With “Mardú” (1999-2001) he will begin to write and sing live his own music. Band that moves from Seville to Madrid to work in the show business.
In this city he establishes “Mandala” (2003); with these two groups apart from his music, Santiago Jiménez covers other classic bands from the 60's, 70's and 80's, Queen, U2, Bowie...etc.

In his stage as a soloist , Santiago decides to play only his music and begin to give concerts.

Santiago Jiménez come away from tags and decide to be what he allways wanted to: to be himself. He get undressed on the stage with his piano and guitar, and he spills in his words and melodies, the source of experiences that he has lived in these past years in Madrid, that draws a retrospective of all his life, his personal develoment in this long and beautiful path of life, that is put on his last original work “Travelling Notebook ”.
Santiago, with this new songs, pretends awake the love we are and conect with it. They are songs for a new age, songs for those who dare to feel, and songs that help to the reflection and to close old wounds.
